The Curonian Spit and Zelenogradsk
The Dancing Forest, sand dunes, the Baltic Sea, and a town that really loves its cats.
Today I visited the Curonian Spit and Zelenogradsk.
An interesting place overall, but the actual Dancing Forest is literally just a few dozen trees. You can only walk along the paths, and the paths are fenced in. Kills the vibe.
The spit is sandy and consists of a whole series of dunes. Trees were planted here to stabilize them too.

Zelenogradsk is another seaside resort, founded in 1252. It was lucky during the war too, so plenty of old houses have survived.
There are also loads of cats in town, and everyone loves them. The town administration even has a chief cat officer.
Cats have monuments here. They are painted on buildings and manhole covers, and appear on signs.
The cats have their own crossing and little houses. The houses stand on a heated pavement.
The town is beautiful. Unfortunately, the tour left us very little time, so I only got to see one street.
I rounded off the evening with a tasting of beer, stroganina, cheese, meat, and eel.
